A sort-of continuation for the “Switched!” sketch—came up with this during the school commute, as usual. Kagome’s outfit always baffled me: how does she keep that school-issue micro-miniskirt from flapping up when there’re so much running in the series, not to mention too many darned wind-based attacks? (I mean, I wore a school uniform myself with a green pleated skirt that went an inch or two past my knees—much longer than Kagome’s—but even then standing on the side of a roadway was asking for a game of peek-a-boo.) Then I attributed it to some secret skill known only to anime schoolgirls, and left it at that. Of course, since Inuyasha is male and therefore lacking this knowledge, he’s fair game (I wonder if he’d agree to wear anything underneath that skirt, though?). And I think I have a theory as to why Sango needs a separate suit to fight in; ever notice how snug the hem of her skirt is around her calves?

I decided to use the English translation for Inuyasha’s attack, partly because I became acquainted with the Cartoon Network version of the show first, and mostly because I try not to mix languages as much as I can. “Hiraikotsu” is an exception because it’s the boomerang’s actual name, and its literal translation is “flying bone”, which would sound just silly if Sango were to yell that every time it was thrown.
