I’d been itching to make the cover for the “Kumo no Su” doujinshi long before this site was ever born, but it was only recently that I finally hit on a “spiderweb” visual that I liked. Inuyasha’s supposed to be a “gothic-horror” series, so I decided to take a break from the usual fluffy art ideas and do something that was dark and sexy and kinda morbid. Still, the one above is the tamer version: the original version (which isn’t available on this site) was much wider and more grotesque (you could actually see the dead youkai lady’s face), but I thought that might cross the line of good taste, and so I cropped that out. I can’t believe how much time I wasted on the detail on those spider youkai corpses when I was gonna end up blurring them out anyway. I don’t know if those spiderwebs even look legit—I was too much in a hurry to look up some kinda reference, and so I relied on my memories of all those Ultimate Spider-Man comics I’d read. I detailed the process of creating this CG in the “CG-Making” section.
