True, the “kiss” premise has that “been there, done that” sort of feel, but I just had to make one. It’s practically a done deal that the closest we’ll ever get to see of this sort of deep dental cleaning between Miroku and Sango are Episodes 27 and 95, after all. Well, poo. Here I reverted to my old tried-and-true cel style coloring—somehow it seemed more appropriate. The setting was inspired by the episode wherein Toutousai makes his premiere appearance; while they were talking around that roast boar a random thought popped into my head: “Hey, the lighting’s pretty. It’d be the perfect setting for Miroku and Sango to stick their tongues down each other’s throats.” Well...something to that effect. I knew I should’ve at least used a background reference, but I was too busy playing around with different brush textures. Inuyasha’s expression, by the way, is fairly typical of the one he gets when he has to endure Miroku and Sango doing one of their little routines. The original large version is here.
