Gasp—my first non-Miroku and/or Sango CG. See, I can draw other characters. Mostly I just...don’t want to. Still, I’ve always had a soft spot for characters who are intrinsically good and yet have a snowball’s chance in hell at getting a happy ending (i.e., Yui Hongo, Ryouga Hibiki, etc.), and Kikyou just happened to fall into that category, so I just had to make a CG of her. Think about it: she’s a priestess who dedicated her life to everyone but herself, and when she falls in love, she’s tricked into thinking that he betrayed her, and dies in the process. Then she’s brought back from the dead a shell of her former self, and the love of her life is now hanging with her reincarnation, who also happens to possess the better half of her soul. It was as if she’d been cheated out of her happily ever after, which I found incredibly sad. Then again, I might be the only one with that opinion. Oh, well.

This one was an experiment of sorts, and I made a lot of learning mistakes. If the Shindumachuu/Soul-Stealers look a bit off, that’s because all I had for reference was a tiny manga panel of them. The background I’m still rather doubtful of; it looks too flat and simple.
